Woodbury, NY, insurance broker helps feed the hungry during COVID-19 pandemic.
Woodbury, NY, May 19, 2020 — SterlingRisk Insurance, headquartered in Woodbury, New York, recently organized a “SterlingRisk Day of Giving” initiative to support individuals and families across Long Island facing hunger and food insecurity as a result of COVID-19. The giving effort benefited several of the region’s most active food pantries, including The INN Food Pantry in Hempstead, NY; Pronto of Long Island in Bay Shore, NY; St. Francis of Assisi-St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Greenlawn, NY; and Long Island Cares-The Harry Chapin Food Bank in Huntington Station, NY.
“The SterlingRisk Family came together to support families in need,” explained SterlingRisk President of Programs Geraldine DelPrete. “This spring, so many are struggling to put food on the table. Associates throughout SterlingRisk and Bolton Street Programs gave generously to help make a difference. SterlingRisk CEO David Sterling then matched all donations, enabling us to not only drop off food but make a monetary donation at each food pantry for the purchase of milk, eggs, and meat. SterlingRisk is honored to lend a helping hand to our neighbors. It’s what we’re all about.”
SterlingRisk has organized several giving programs in support of those impacted by COVID-19, including a “Lunch is on us!” campaign that delivered catered lunches to front-line staff workers at Long Island nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The brokerage also purchased gift cards from client Poll Restaurants and donated the cards to healthcare providers within the Northwell Health healthcare network.
SterlingRisk has a long history of promoting positive values, encouraging volunteerism, and supporting those in need, including raising over $63,000 for the American Heart Association. More information on SterlingRisk is available at www.SterlingRisk.com.
